Catherine Dempsey
Science Mentor / Mentor Coach
About
I was born and raised in Central Illinois and moved to Southern Illinois for college. I earned my Masters in Geology, which is my lifelong passion. I spent my career working in public schools as a Teaching Assistant in elementary public schools, tutoring special education college students, and teaching at John A Logan College in Illinois. I am still teaching at John A College online in geology and physical science. I moved to Omaha last year to accept the position here at QFA and love that I am closer to my niece and nephews. Teaching and mentoring are something I am very passionate about and hope to make great connections in the community and build strong foundations for learning here at QFA.
Roles at Quest Forward Academy
Science Mentor and Mentor Coach
Credentials
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Resource Geology and I have a Masters in Geology. I have worked with 4th and 5th graders as well as mentored those students in math. I tutored in college for students with special needs. I also taught dual-credit high school students in classes such as Weather and Climate and Geology.
Before Quest Forward Academy
Before I started as a Science mentor, I worked at a college teaching physical science classes. These classes were a combination of high school students to seniors in college. I primarily worked as a teacher’s aide, science/math/general science tutor, and a teacher.
