Randal Miller
Art Mentor
About
I am an Omaha, Nebraska native. I’ve lived here my whole life with no plans on leaving this great state. I graduate from Millard South in 1991 and went on to college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. There I completed two Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree. I continued additional education online through Peru. This is my 22st year in education, and I am really excited to be here. In addition to teaching, I am a working artist. I do commissions and original works which I show around the Omaha area.
Roles at Quest Forward Academy
I am the Art mentor here at Quest Forward Academy. The classes I mentor here are Introduction to Art, Drawing and Painting, and Digital Design. My goal is to introduce students to a variety of art techniques and helping them learn an appreciation for art. I also lead Art Club on Wednesdays.
Credentials
- BS in General Studies with a Major in Art and Art History, Minor in Adolescent Psychology
- BS in K-12 Art Education
- MS in Secondary Education, with a Concentration on Educational Technology
- MS in Education with a Major in Curriculum and Instruction, Minor in Teaching and Learning
Before Quest Forward Academy
Before Quest, I taught for Ralston Public Schools for 19 years. I taught for 9 years at the elementary level, 2 years of middle school, and 10 years at the high school level. (The math does not add up because there were some years where my time overlapped between different buildings.) After Ralston, I spent a year teaching elementary art in Glennwood, Iowa. Fun fact: before I was a teacher, I was a karaoke DJ for about 4 years.
