Update on Quest Forward Academy and COVID-19

On 3/16, Quest Forward Academy Omaha shifted its operation to distance learning, to ensure the safety of our families, mentors and staff, and to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Learning activities are continuing on an adapted schedule, with students working from home, in both real-time, video-based class sessions and in small-group and one-on-one mentor interactions. Since our curriculum is natively digital, with solid preparation the school community made this shift smoothly despite the challenging circumstances.

While this scenario is new to us, and while there are inevitable hurdles to overcome, we are pleased that students and mentors are managing this change with focus and high engagement. We look forward to a return to normal operations and face-to-face learning. Until that is possible is appropriate, school work will continue in the online format.

For the coming weeks, our schedule will shift slightly as follows:

As previously scheduled, March 18 will be the end of Term 3. Spring Break will then begin on March 19th and will extend through April 1. Intersession, which was scheduled to start after Spring Break, will be postponed. On April 2, students and mentors will begin Term 4 and continue with remote learning. From there, we will continue to follow the guidance provided by public health officials.

Thank you to our mentors and staff who continue to do a remarkable job keeping schedules, pace, and the experience of school consistent, to our parents for adapting to these changes graciously, and to our students who are showing tremendous resilience, focus, and flexibility in these challenging times.
